Design Aesthetics Poster Project
As one of our projects for our Design Aesthetics class in the BCIT New Media Design & Web Development Program we were asked to create two posters for an event of our choice taking place in Vancouver. My idea was for the Vancouver Jazz Festival which is an annual event in the Lower Mainland.
BCIT NMD & WD
BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) is a Polytechnic school with three main locations, Vancouver Downtown, Burnaby (main campus) and Richmond (Aviation programs). They have an excellent reputation in the industry for churning out top notch talent in the field of Technology, Business and Engineering just to mention a few.
My Task
To create a visually appealing and recognizable double poster project for an event of our choosing. I chose The Vancouver Jazz Festival which is an annual jazz event in Vancouver BC. My idea was to take jazz instruments and the event title and combine them in a unique why. The musicians names I used, although not actually attending the venue, are three of my favourite jazz musicians. I recently added a third to the collection, The Guitar.
